No Need to Hide

I feel your presence. There’s no need to hide.
Your tries at silence scream right into my mind.
I feel your shadow as it grows over me,
Driving out all reason and sensibility.

But it’s not enough! You can’t just command!
If you think I’ll just obey, then, you don’t understand!
Even though your blood runs so very dark and cold,
I’ll never just give up possession of my soul.

You are not a coward, and neither am I.
Come to me honestly! Am I not worth the try?
You’ve traveled near and far, always on the roam.
Hold me close; in my embrace you’ll finally find your home.

So many changes, so very much to learn,
Life has no guarantees; on just a dime it turns.
What difference does it make if I am not your kind?
I feel your presence, and there’s no need to hide.
